In today’s 🧼 lesson: Gel! See the big circle in the center of this loaf? This happens when the soap gets HOT. Sometimes it fixes itself during the cure, and sometimes it makes the colors richer🤷🏼‍♀️. Some soap makers do this on purpose
Have you ever had a bar of 🧼 with white residue on it that wipes off? In the soap world, we call this “Bloom” and it happens when we superfat with butters. Superfatting is adding extra oils/butters to the soap to make sure the soap does
